Hartl, Karla and Erik Entwistle, eds. The Kapralova Companion. Lanham, MD: Lexington Books, 2011. ML410.K184 K37 2011.
The first and only major study of Kapralova in English. One cannot understand Martinu's relationship without knowing Kapralova first. Karla Hartl provides the foundation of the work, supplying a biography, annotated chronology, complete catalog of works, a comprehensive bibliography, and discograghy. Supporting essays by Jindriska Bartova, Erik Entwistle, Timothy Cheek, and Judith Mabary offer excellent in-depth studies of her works. An expansive index can help the reader navigate mentions of Martinu, but the entire book is relevant to the study of both composers.

Mucha, Jiri. Podivne lasky. Prague: Mlada fronta, 1988. ML422.K195 M8 1988.
Years after the war, Mucha set out to tell the story of himself, Martinu, Kapralova, and the Czech artists in Paris. It is beautifully written and tells a compelling story but, while Mucha did consult primary sources, the book is first and foremost a novel. He only had access to part of Kapralova's correspondence, relied heavily on secondhand accounts, and made assumptions to fill in the blanks. While we can get some idea of Martinu and Kapralova from the story, we learn far more about Mucha and his version of what transpired in Paris during those fateful years.

Uher, Jindrich. Ona a Martinu Prague: Cesky spisovatel, 1995. PG5039.31.H4 O5 1995.
Another fictional account of Kapralova and Martinu's relationship. While Uher claims that he has access to new sources from Kapralova's estate, they appear to be primarily rumours and gossip, and the novel is similar to Mucha's in many regards. A revised and expanded second edition was published in 2002 by Sursum.

Treti rozhoduje. Rodinna dramaturgie a svetova hudba.
[...] Klavirni exhibici se stalo take dalsi cislo poradu, Groteskni passacaglia Vitezslavy Kapralove. Groteskni passacaglia je brilantni klavirni miniatura, napsana chytre a zkusene (kompozicne i pianisticky) v duchu evropske moderny tricatych let a vtipkujici na ucet dustojne formy - aspon tak ji predvedla pianistka Dora.

Od Janacka ke Stedronovi. Hudebni prochazka Brnem.
V pondeli probehl prvni ze dvou orchestralnich koncertu Ensemblu Opera Diversa jarni casti sezony. [...]

Koncert Laska a zena... z naseho cyklu Hudba bez hranic
V krasnem tematickem programu - o lasce v jejich nejruznejsich podobach, milenecke, materske, lasce k zivotu i k Bohu, zaznely pisne a skladby nejvyznamnejsich jubilantu letosniho Roku hudby.

Radioservis DDD.
